The Titleist Pro V1 golf ball has been leading the market for the last decade and is designed for golfers looking for low spin and great velocity. In 2003 the original model was replaced with the new one which came in two variations – the Titleist Pro V1 and the Titleist Pro V1x, designed to fit different swing types. Both balls had been played by professional golfers for several months prior to their worldwide launch.
The Titleist Pro V1x is a distance ball. The Titleist Pro V1x is ideal for high swing golfers who prefer distance over spin control like with the regular Pro V1. The Titleist Pro V1x has a multi-layer four-piece construction with a high-compressions dual core that was designed with one goal in mind – to give players extra distance with every shot they play.
Its 332-dimple pattern is aimed at providing a more penetrating ball flight, comparing to the Pro V1 with its standard 392 dimples. The combination of the new Staggered Wave parting line, improved Urethane Elastomer cover and a dense dimple pattern provides golfers with greater distance off the tee.
The Titleist Pro V1x ball delivers long, straight distance, great playability and soft feel. Though the Titleist Pro V1x spins less than the Pro V1, it still provides great feel around greens due to improved “Drop-And-Stop” control. The Titleist Pro V1x also has an A.I.M. (Alignment Integrated Marking) sidestamp for better putting alignment.
The Titleist Pro V1x is really one of the best balls for the best players. Ernie Els and Phil Michelson are among tour golfers who showed excellent distance results with the Titleist Pro V1x.
However, the majority of ordinary golfers might be disappointed with the results when playing the Titleist Pro V1x. The Titleist Pro V1x has been designed for top golfers and to get the most out of the Titleist Pro V1x, a player needs to hit the ball really hard, which is not easily achieved by mid to high handicap golfers.
Some golfers may find the Titleist Pro V1x a little bit pricey, but the Titleist Pro V1x is a high-performance ball and it is worth investing into it if you want great results.
